Re: Talksport right now. Should be fun
How can it be deal of the century when it only runs for 99 years?!

Hearn don't care about the taxpayer, all he cares is he sniffed a massive payout and he got what he deserved, fuck all.

Fuck Hearn, show me a bad loser and I'll show you a loser. Our grapes are significantly sweeter. If Orient fold it will because he did fuck all to promote them other than sell their ground to himself at a cut down price. He can't wait for them to go so he can sell it for residential development and cry that the OS put them out of business.

Re: Talksport right now. Should be fun

I'd suggest you've hugely underestimated the revenue there. Taking in corporate revenue and the fact people will actually eat at the venue now (as against queue up outside kens cafe for 45 mins) I'd expect the average spend per head to be comfortably in the region of £12 a head.

(In fact I'd go up as far as £16 a head)

Stubbo 8:45 Thu Apr 14
Re: Talksport right now. Should be fun
It's not just about the revenue though.

We no longer will have to pay maintenance, stewarding costs, etc.

I'm pretty sure Brady or one of her minions will have done her sums on this, and her corporate savvy will frankly have walked all over the public sector civil servants she was negotiating with.

Hearn is likely right we have deal of the century. Any heat should be directed squarely at the LLDC...not at us. It would be no different to if we got Messi for a packet of quavers...West Ham great deal, but the selling team would be the fuck up.

Frankly we should be going on the offensive over this rather than holding the flames at bay. Assuming of course our house is built in granite from a contract perspective.

Re: Talksport right now. Should be fun
If Gavros estimation is about right that we would take 2m a year in food profit what do we get at present?
What im getting at ,is what would be our yearly profit compared to now on all match day income including tickets?

Saul Bollox 8:28 Thu Apr 14
Re: Talksport right now. Should be fun
So what have these anti West Ham coalition cunts achieved. There will be no renegotiation of the contract, no return of funds to the tax payer, a bit of moaning in the media which will soon be forgotten, we will still be playing there, and they have caused a mass of public money to be spent on a legal case.

Anybody saying that without West Ham it would be a practice place for segways like the Bird's Nest in Beijing

Re: Talksport right now. Should be fun
I think the least we can do is offer to take the corner flags from Upton Park... that should appease the Charlton fans.

Stubbo 8:24 Thu Apr 14
Re: Talksport right now. Should be fun
We should be taking a different tack. One where we acknowledge we got a great deal, but point out ours was the most lucrative to the tax payer on the table, and that the tax payer actually had the option of a better deal before the likes of Hearn and Spurs submitted legal challenges that see us renting the stadium a few days a year with almost no responsibility, versus taking it on and being responsible for it and paying more as the first deal was to be.

We need to be much more aggressive in our response as far as I'm concerned rather than trying to placate people.

Sven Roeder 8:10 Thu Apr 14
Re: Talksport right now. Should be fun
The headlines will be that the stadium costs us less than Andy Carroll & that the taxpayer is buying us corner flags.
We need to be out there with a strong clear statement.

Gavros 7:12 Thu Apr 14

Thats all very well Gavros but on the news just now they said we are only paying 2.5m where Man C are paying over 4m. No mention of anything else.

See how they just report partial facts and make it look bad. We have no chance of this being judged fairly. The propaganda lies in motion and yet again the club are silent. We will get shafted unless someone fights back!

Mike Oxsaw 7:57 Thu Apr 14
Re: Talksport right now. Should be fun
Do all that oppose the deal feel that the better option was for the LDDC to play real financial "hard ball" on the deal and never come anywhere near what West Ham were prepared to pay, leaving the stadium vastly under-utilised?

That's not what these people THINK we should be paying, but what price was commercially acceptable to the business that is West Ham United (Ltd or plc or whatever the business arm is).

Just because these thick, hip bozos are quite happy to pay £8.00 for a half-pint of "craft beer", it doesn't follow that others should bend over and take it in other walks of life.

Re: Talksport right now. Should be fun
During the Olympics they had food & drink outlets outside the stadium near the sculpture (& elsewhere ).
Will they be allowed & if so do we have any control or income from them on match days ?

Gavros 7:12 Thu Apr 14
Re: Talksport right now. Should be fun
Assuming that the LLDC gets somewhere in the region of £8 mil from naming rights, then in total it gets £6 mil net naming rights and £5 mil food and drink, plus the £2.5 mil rental payment.

Demonstrably better than the £4 mil that Manchester Council get from Man City.

Gavros 7:09 Thu Apr 14
Re: Talksport right now. Should be fun
So here's a quick estimate of the match day for LLDC and WHU. There's 56,600 'regular' seats subject to this part of the deal. If every punter spends a fiver a game, then over the season that's £7,075,000. The split will be £5,102,000 to the LLDC and £1,972,000 to WHU.

Re: Talksport right now. Should be fun
Anyone know who gets the match day profits regarding food drink outlets within the stadium?

LLDC takes first £500k, then slits 70/30 in their favour.

LA Hammer 7:05 Thu Apr 14
Re: Talksport right now. Should be fun
No. I think their position is that West Ham should be made to pay for the conversion as well as a 'fair' rent even though, with those terms neither West Ham nor anyone else would have taken the deal.

Reality isn't intruding into the conversation.

Yeh I'm aware is ts and they tend to veer away from sensible

Re: Talksport right now. Should be fun
Wasn't his original gripe that we wouldn't fill the stadium so we'd have to giveaway masses of ultra-cheap tickets putting orient under threat? It turns out that's bollocks so he's taken a different tact.

Re: Talksport right now. Should be fun
over the last few years i have heard so much from that cunt Hearn on this subject but in every interview i have never heard him asked the questions that need to be asked , fuck him and having talksport in his pocket .
